immaculate heart central (ihc) is a catholic school system located in jefferson county, ny among the states poorest and most economically-challenged counties. we welcome students of all faiths, ethnic backgrounds, and nationalities. our school system educates over 650 students in four schools: pre-k (ages 3 and 4), primary (grades 1 to 3), intermediate (grades 4 to 6), and junior/senior high school (grades 7 to 12). we educate 25 international students. about 20% of our students are of faiths other than catholic, and about 20% are children of active duty soldiers stationed at fort drum, which has the armys highest rate of deployment to iraq and afghanistan.
