- Hunt stand VS OnX | saddlehunter. com
I use both, they each have their pro like others have said IMO I primarily use the free version of hunt stand for local property and weather updates I primarily use ONX for all of my scouting and public land use local and when I go out west I have the premium version of OnX and use it ALL the time Don't think you will go wrong with either

Hunt Stand is unique to me in that you create hunt areas, which is awesome because you can choose to focus in on one property and not be distracted by the entire state They also have some very cool map layers that OnX does not have in a direct apples to apples kind of comparison

I have been using HuntStand for long time and like it a lot I use the Hunt Zone to help me decide where I am going to hunt based on the wind I always used the free version, but I have been paying for it over the last few years and the extra features are nice I have not use OnX so no comment I did not like Huntwise so I deleted the app

OnX was first on the scene and I stuck with them, still have the elite membership… that being said they are getting left in the dust I used hunt stand for a little bit when it first came out but quickly went back to OnX Right now I would rate the 3 I use, Go Hunt maps, spartan forge, onX Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting com Forums

On X Hunt has not updated their mapping in over 2 years I know landowners that have purchased new properties and it is NOT shown on this app Time for me to move on to something more current, to get my money's worth out of the app

So far, I’ve really only used red and blue, but I’m trying to decide on a minimalist palette for different sign or terrain features For example, all “deer sign” right now is in red waypoints, all no-hunt zones are red boundaries with red fill-in, and all habitat features (such as bedding areas or funnels) are blued in

The go hunt shop is a little better, in my opinion Plus, the maps have most of, if not the same, or more features and seem to be updated more frequently I'm one of the folks who do both, though It is ridiculous and probably a waste of money, but transferring the waypoints is beyond my scope of talent
